Declaration of support signed for the initiative

At the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, a declaration of support for the initiative was signed at the first public presentation of the manifesto and the Slovenian initiative for the International Day of Living with Wood.

Signing the declaration is an important founding step for the initiative. It gives the initiative professional, institutional, educational and business support and opens the way to establishing 7 November as an international day of living with wood.

The event was held under the title LIVING WITH WOOD: From the forest to the home. Wood as a mirror of development and the quality of living, alongside the LIVING WITH WOOD® exhibition / showroom.

The programme brought together addresses by representatives of key institutions and partners, a presentation of the initiative and the manifesto for the International Day of Living with Wood, a presentation of boutique wood destinations from the Wood We Go® campaign, and wooden products from selected wood-industry schools.

The event also symbolically connected two important milestones: the 175th anniversary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and 15 years since the first Slovenian magazine devoted entirely to living with wood, Varčna hiša, now published as BIVANJE Z LESOM. It opened a space for reflection on wood as an important foundation for the development of contemporary living, architecture, the economy and Slovenia, and brought the profession, academic institutions, policy and business together on a shared platform.
